Dear Sisters and Brothers,
May the peace of God be with you through this New Year!
I take it that most of you, by now, would be aware that a number of Baptist Churches and Schools were damaged by the passage of hurricane Matthew in the southern part of Haiti in October 2016. Most of these buildings are affiliated to the Missionary Evangelical Baptist of South Haiti.
The CBF is currently engaged in dialogue with the leadership of the MEBSH regarding the restoration of these buildings. A schedule for the restoration work is being developed by the MEBSH. As soon as this is completed it will be sent to the CBF.
The plan is to mobilize construction mission teams from the Caribbean territories to go to Haiti to partner with the local construction workers in the restoration of the damaged buildings. This serves to advise you of our intention and to ask that you assist us in encouraging/sponsoring construction workers from your convention/union/association. Each participant will be responsible for their airfare.
Our sisters and brothers in Haiti need our assistance. Let us come together and help our neighbours. A mission construction team form will soon be sent to you. In the meantime, we ask that you sensitize your affiliated churches of this mission possibility.
Regards,Rev. Everton Jackson
